Touchdown Celebrations and Manual Lens Failures!

In this video, the Bolt Bunch was trying something new.  We shot the entire video on our old Canon 50mm f1.8 lens.  Normal, we film the still interview type shots with the Canon 50mm and then shoot the action with the Panasonic 14-42mm.  We found out we need more practice with manual shooting!  Although, if done better than we did below, the results are really good with old manual lenses.  Some of our Ladder Drill videos we released produced better results with that lens.

As you can see in this video, the shots of the kids far away are a bit blurry as they move back and forth in their touchdown celebrations?  How do we fix that?  We most likely will need to stop the lens down more to get a deeper depth of field.  Not sure what depth of field or aperture is?  Check out a great still photography book from a guy we know that explains all of those terms!
